PARENT PARTICIPATION

School Site Council (SSC)

Site based decision making committee. 

Monthly meeting that includes the CBAC and DELAC representatives.

Community Board Advisory Council (CBAC)

Monthly meeting led by the Superintendent discussing and making decisions about district wide issues. Reports to SSC. Please contact Mrs. Mia if you are interested in serving as our Zanker CBAC Representative.

District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)

Monthly meeting led by the Learning and Development Department focused on serving our English Language Learners.

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

Site based committee serving our English Language Learners.  Reports to SSC.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS

We need parent volunteers all year long.

  • Classroom

  • PTA Events

  • Chaperone field trips

A valid copy of your driver’s license or identification and an updated TB test results are required along wiht the application and fingerprinting. 

Tuberculosis (TB) test results must be on file for volunteers that are: 

  • Ongoing, long term: Volunteering at the school regularly, more than once a year 

  • At school: Volunteering on school grounds or in the classroom, has access to privileged information 

  • Face-to-face: Volunteering with direct contact with students

All volunteers who would like to work in the classroom need to have a current clear TB test on file with the school. TB test results are valid for four years. Parents with a current TB test on file do not have to provide additional copies of the clearance form. Updated test results can be turned in to the school office.

Fingerprinting clearance must be done at a facility that provides LiveScan background checks.  Bring the attached LiveScan form with you when you go to be fingerprinted.  Different local organizations provide fingerprinting services for different costs.
