Course STEAM 1: Art Enrichment

Time: 3:00 – 5:00 pm (1st and 3rd Fridays)
Description: Come learn how to create an art journal where you will be able to show off your art work in one, neat piece. We will use mixed media techniques of building backgrounds and layering. Each week be prepared to add to your journal!
Course STEAM 2: Let's Build! - Hands On Engineering

Description: In this class students will learn to build free-standing structures with Citiblocs and Keva Planks. We will learn the process of design-build-redesign--rebuild. We will learn to follow multi-step directions in printed and visual format, as well as create our own designs. We will have tower building contests and bridge-building contests. Most of all we will have a load of fun while we teach our brains new things.
Course STEAM 3: The Tech Challenge Team

Description: IA signature program of The Tech Museum of Innovation, The Tech Challenge is an annual team design challenge for students in Grades 4-12 that introduces and reinforces the science and engineering design process with a hands-on project geared to solving a real-world problem.
The 2016 challenge: Build a glider to deliver supplies to a remote location!
This year, you tell the story! What is your glider carrying? Where are you going? Why?

Course CW 1: Creative Writing and Publishing

Time: 2:45 – 3:30 pm (Wednesdays) - Begins in January!!!
Description: In this creative writing class, we will be exploring a variety of writing genres using Google docs. Students will practice many skills such as craft of writing, grammar, topic sentences, paragraph writing, and mechanics. Students will also publish individual books that they write. Our collective goal is to publish a group anthology as well. In this class, students will additionally learn to share their writing and learn some basic public speaking skills with expression, voice control, and posture when they read their stories out loud.
